INSTANT AUTHORITY

On October the 18th, 1983 at 3 pm I instantly had authority over the devil and tons and tons of grace and a little bit of wisdom. If a child of God does not know they have authority over the devil and his demons it is very difficult to exercise authority. One of the devil’s biggest goals is to keep us from knowing we have authority over him and that is God’s biggest goal is to be sure that we know we have authority over satan and his band of renegade angels so that God can fulfill HIS plan and purpose for our lives. Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.” God made sure I knew about binding and loosing as soon as possible. Matthew 18:18, “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.” Mark 3:27, “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man [the devil]; and then he will spoil his house.”

First John 3:8b, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” John 10:9-10, Jesus speaking, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” We need to remember that God has sent His Son to give us an abundant life and how not to give the devil place. We have an enemy that is out to steal or destroy everything we have and is bent on killing us before God's appointed time for us to die, BUT GOD has given us authority over the very enemy that is out to steal, kill and destroy. Hebrews 9:27, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:” This is God’s appointed time, not the devils.

We have spent a lot of time talking about our wrestling match against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. When the original epistles or letters to the churches were written they were letters and at some point by divine inspiration God had someone divide them in to chapters and verses so it would be easier to reference. We need to keep foremost in our minds that the wrestling match that God inspired Paul to write about was at the end of the epistle [letter] to the Ephesians in our chapter six. What we call the first five chapters were written to let us know that we were chosen, accepted, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, forgiven of our sins, given an inheritance, sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, quickened together with Christ, raised up together and seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus at the right hand of God with Jesus far above all the evil in this world and that Jesus is our Head, the Head of the church, and we are His body before He told us that we are in a wrestling match that was won at Calvary when Jesus was crucified, died and arose from the dead on the third day and gave us our “Starter Kit” which includes the armor of God. Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

JESUS IS THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH AND WE ARE THE BODY

Let's look at Ephesians 1:17-23, “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, Which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under His [Jesus] feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the Church which is His body [The Church-us], the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.” God’s inheritance in verse 18 is you and me, us. God knows our name and is delighted that we are His children and He wants us to know the hope of His calling-His plan and purpose for our lives-our place in the body of Christ. Jesus is the head of the Church and we are His body and a Head without a body is useless and a body without a Head has no direction. God has put all things under Jesus' feet and through being quickened together with Christ far above all the evil in this world we have the ability to make His enemies His footstool. Hebrews 10:12-13, “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool.” And thank you Father that we are members of the body of Christ, Jesus is the Word and the Head of the Church is the Word and when we speak the Word and stand on your Word over our situation we will put all things under our feet. IT IS WRITTEN!!!!!!)

First Corinthians 12:12-27, “For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

For the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased Him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the Head to the feet, I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:

And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism [schisma-break, divide, division, rent-remember the 38,000 denominations of Christianity. That is a big schism!] in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.”

Romans 6:1-12, “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into His death? Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over Him. For in that He died, He died unto sin once: but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.”

WE ARE SEATED TOGETHER WITH CHRIST JESUS-THE HEAD OF THE CHURCH

Ephesians 1:18-21, “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.”

Now read this carefully, Ephesians 2:4-7, “Now God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” We, spiritually, are seated with Jesus in heavenly places and we might not think like it or look like it or feel like it or act like it, but we are, and we need to start thinking like it, looking like it, feeling like it and acting like it. As far as the spirit world is concerned we are seated with Jesus far above all the evil in this world and this is the same evil that we wrestle with and don't have to. Colossians 2:10 says, “And ye are complete in Him [Jesus], which is the head of all principality and power.” We are complete and the heads of all principality and power through Jesus, the Word of God.

Colossians 1:12-22, “Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet [qualified] to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear SonIn whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by Him were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist.

And He is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things He might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of His Cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in Heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight:”

Colossians 2:6-15, “As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with Him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised Him from the dead.

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances [the law] that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His CrossAnd having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

COLOSSIANS 3:1-4, “IF YE THEN BE RISEN WITH CHRIST, SEEK THOSE THINGS WHICH ARE ABOVE, WHERE CHRIST SITTETH ON THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD. SET YOUR AFFECTION ON THINGS ABOVE, NOT ON THINGS ON THE EARTH. FOR YE ARE DEAD, AND YOUR LIFE IS HID WITH CHRIST IN GOD. WHEN CHRIST, WHO IS OUR LIFE, SHALL APPEAR, THEN SHALL YE ALSO APPEAR WITH HIM IN GLORY.”

REIGNING IN LIFE AS KINGS AND PRIESTS

Galatians 3:26-29 and 4:1-7, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the Father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”

Remember, we were all under the law until we were born again and can still choose to be under the law instead of an heir with Christ, even though we are born again, if we continue to sin and ignore the Cross, Calvary and God’s Starter Kit by Jesus. God has given us authority over sin through the works of the Cross. Colossians 2:13-15, “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath He quickened together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us [the law], which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His Cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”

Second Corinthians 6:14-18, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

Romans 5:17, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)”

Revelation 1:4-6, “John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from Him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne; And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. [That is us!] Unto Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own bloodAnd hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

Do not forget our immutable covenant, Hebrews 6:13-20. “For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is an end of all strife. [This is speaking of a covenant between two men] Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise [that's us] the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath: That by two immutable things [His promise and His oath], in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an High Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.”

Now that we know that we have the truth that we are the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus and have peace with God by being reconciled through the blood of Jesus so we can take the Shield of Faith and quench all the thoughts or fiery darts of the enemy and put on the Helmet of Salvation that we are kings and priests and will reign in life by one Christ Jesus by being raised together, quickened together and seated together far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this world, but also in that which is to come through the faith of the operation of God and Jesus is the head of the Church and we are His body.

God has put all things under Jesus' feet and through being quickened together with Christ far above all the evil in this world we can now make His enemies His footstool, Hebrews 10:12-13, “But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God; From henceforth expecting till His enemies be made His footstool.”, by taking the Name of Jesus and the Word of God and win every battle. Remember that Jesus has made us kings and priests and we reign in reign in life by Christ Jesus by being cleansed from all sin by His blood, Revelation 1:5-6, “And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Revelation 12:7-11, “And there was war in Heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in Heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil, and satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”

THE NAME OF JESUS

Acts 3:1-16, “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.

And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? Or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified His Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied Him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; and killed the Prince of Life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. And His Name through faith in His Name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by Him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.”

Acts 4:10-14, “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by Him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the Head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other Name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.”

John 16:23-24, “And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my Name [Jesus], He will give it to you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my Name; ask and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” James 1:5, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth [rebukes] not; and it shall be given him.”

Acts 19:11-16, “And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul: So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists [Strong’s Number 1845-to bind by an oath (or spell)], took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, we adjure [3726-put on oath] you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

Paul had authority in the Name of Jesus because he had determined to do things God's way, but the sons of Sceva hadn't and were trying to exercise authority by using witchcraft in the name of Jesus when they needed to determine to do things God’s way. They were tares just like the man in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of Heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in Heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.” because they had never repented. God couldn't do His miracles without Paul and Paul would have been just like the sons of Sceva if he hadn't been submitted to God and had authority in the Name of Jesus. James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Mark 16:17, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my Name shall they cast out devils;”

Jesus said in John 14:12-14, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my Name, I will do it.” Mark 16:15-18, “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In My Name [Jesus] shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.”

Jesus gave us authority in His Name over the devil and God will move when we speak His Word over any situation and in the Name of Jesus we will cast out devils and lay hands on the sick and they shall recover and we will speak in new tongues or languages. Jesus doesn't speak, we speak, Jesus doesn't lay hands, we lay hands in the Name of Jesus, Jesus doesn't cast out, we cast out in the Name of Jesus and we do all this in the Name of Jesus. Jesus or our heavenly Father is not going to do these things we are in the Name of Jesus. We co-labor with Jesus and we can't do anything without Jesus and Jesus can't do anything without our hands, our arms, our voices to speak and exercise authority in the Name of Jesus in faith.

Philippians 2:5-13, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a Name which is above every name: That at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Salvation is the Greek word's “soteria” and “soterion” and is different from born again, “gennao.” The combination of the meanings is rescue or safety (physically or morally):-deliver, health, salvation, save, saving. Defender or by implication defense:-salvation. Salvation is more than being born again, it is learning how to defend ourselves and take authority over the wiles of the devil.

BINDING AND LOOSING-TAKING UP SERPENTS

Matthew 18:18, “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.” Mark 3:27, “No man can enter into a strong man’s house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.”

Mark 16:18, “They shall take up serpents;” and Luke 10:19, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” The word serpents in Mark 16:18 and Luke 10:19 is the Greek word “ophis” and is derived from the Greek word “optomai”, which has to do with the ability to see. The definition of “ophis” is “probably from 'optomai' (through the idea of sharpness of vision); a snake, figuratively (as a type of sly cunning) an artful malicious person, especially satan:-serpent.” Jesus was telling us that we shall be able to see, recognize or understand devil's strongholds and we must learn to recognize a demonic stronghold if we are to take up, tread on and destroy that stronghold. We must learn to take the Name of Jesus and bind satan and then we can take control of his demons and loose them in any area of our life or anyone else’s life in which he has control.

One of the best illustrations in the Bible of loosing is: Luke 13:10-17, “And He [Jesus] was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity. And He laid His hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.

The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom satan [satan, satan, satan] hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? And when He had said these things, all His adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.”

The important thing is to see that satan had bound her for 18 years and now she was loosed from her infirmity by the Word of God-Jesus.

                                  IT IS WRITTEN-SPEAKING GOD’S WORD

In Exodus 14, as the Israelites are fleeing Egypt and the Egyptian army are baring down on them and the people are about to panic, we read in verses 13 through 16, “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will shew you today: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen today, ye shall see them no more forever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward: But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it; and the children of Israel shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.” We read in verse 21, “And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided. And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand and on their left."

The Lord told Moses to lift up his rod and divide the sea and then it says the Lord caused the sea to go back. God acted on Moses faith and Moses acted on His faith in God. God said, “Wherefore criest thou unto Me?” because all Moses had to do was point his rod and speak the Word and God would have done His part and now God needs us to speak to the spirits behind the problems in this world and fulfill Mark 16:15-18. God needs us and we most definitely need Him and we are to labor together with God and under our new and better covenant we can all take the Rod, the Word of God, spoken in the Name of Jesus, and move mountains and open seas. As we read earlier in Revelation 19:15, “And out of His [Jesus] mouth goeth a sharp sword [The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God], that with it He should smite the nations; and He shall rule them with a rod of iron.” That's our Lord-Jesus-The Word of God they are talking about and also in the story of His spiritual birth in Revelation 12:5, “And she brought forth a Man Child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His throne.”

People ask me what's wrong with this world and I tell them that God has left us in charge in the Name of Jesus and we are failing to recognize the works of the devil and exercise our authority over the devil by knowing what the Word of God says about who we are in Christ Jesus and that the battle has already been won and we need to rise up and defeat the powers of darkness with the Word of God and the Name of Jesus. As we have learned, we are in a war that most of us don't even know is being fought and the enormity of the battle has been beyond our scope of belief until now, but we are going to understand the enormity of the battle and begin to take our authority and change this world. Praise the Lord! First John 3:8, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” God has provided for our victory if we will believe Him and exercise our faith like Jesus did in the desert temptation. We work from the victory that was won at Calvary, not to get the victory. Find those scriptures that will show you the victory and stand on them until you can say “It is finished!”

Matthew 3:13-17 and Luke 4:1-11, “Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad Him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered Him.

And Jesus, when He was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon Him: And lo a voice from Heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungered. And when the tempter came to Him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. [This is Deuteronomy 8:3]

Then the devil taketh Him up into the holy city, and setteth Him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto Him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give His angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. [This is Psalms 91:11-12] Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. [This is Deuteronomy 6:16]

Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve. [This is Deuteronomy 6:13 and 10:20] Then the devil leaveth Him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto Him.”

When we are baptized with the Holy Spirit, God’s Spirit, then we are ready to go forth like Jesus did and be able to stand against the fiery darts of the wicked with the Word of God and say,  ”It is written!” And now that we have obtained enough truth to repent and be born again, become dead to sin and become a new creature in Christ Jesus thereby obtaining wisdom, the righteousness of God through Christ Jesus, peace with God, sanctification, justification, mercy and grace, been made honorable or trustworthy and take the shield of faith, so we can quench the fiery darts of the wicked with the Word of God and have on the Helmet of Salvation that we are in a blood covenant relationship with the Creator of the universe and washed in the blood of Jesus from all sin. We are seated together in heavenly places with Christ Jesus, complete in Christ Jesus who is the head of all principalities and powers and the head of the Church. We are members of His body and heirs of God through Christ Jesus and reign in life by Christ Jesus and He has made us kings and priests unto God so we can confidently take the Name of Jesus and the Word of God and defeat the enemy in every encounter.

YACKITY-YACK-DISTRACTIONS OF THE ENEMY-CARES OF THIS WORLD

Our goal as a Christian should be to fulfill the Great Commission found in Mark 16:15-18 and if we are fulfilling the Great Commission we are doing better than the average Christian, but why aren't we doing greater works than Jesus like He said we would?

Kenneth Hagin was a well-known faith preacher whose ministry started in 1936 and ended upon his death in 2003. He was healed as a child of fifteen by standing on Mark 11:22-24 and this scripture became the hallmark of his ministry. He started Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma in 1974 and it continues today. God used a teaching from tape three of a four tape series by Kenneth Hagin titled, “Authority of the Believer” to teach me about the distractions or “yackity-yack” of the enemy which I relate to Mark 4:18 & 19, “And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the Word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becometh unfruitful.”

Brother Hagin was talking to Jesus in a vision in 1952 and all of a sudden a demon in a smoky haze got between Brother Hagin and Jesus. Brother Hagin said it looked like a little monkey or an elf and began to go yackity, yackity, yack in a loud shrill voice. He couldn't see Jesus clearly and knew He was talking, but he couldn't understand what Jesus was saying because of the “yackity-yack.” He wondered what was taking Jesus so long to do something about the demon that was between them, because Brother Hagin wanted very badly to hear what Jesus was saying.

Finally, in desperation, he said, “You foul spirit, in the Name of Jesus, shut up.” When he said that, the demon fell like it was shot and rolled over and began to shake like a whipped pup. Brother Hagin said, “Not only shut up, but get out of here.” The demon said, “I sure don't want to, but if you tell me to, I am going to have to.” The cloud disappeared and the demon ran off and Brother Hagin could see Jesus clearly and understand what He was saying. The “yackity-yack” was gone. We must realize that we have authority in the Name of Jesus over the demons that are creating the “yackity-yack” in our lives and speak the Word of God to them.

Brother Hagin was wondering why Jesus didn't do anything about the demon that got between them and Jesus knew what he was thinking and said, “If you hadn't done something about that I couldn't.” Brother Hagin replied, “You don't mean you couldn't, you mean you wouldn't.” Jesus told him, “There is nothing in the New Testament that tells the church that if they pray to me or God the Father, that we will do anything about the devil and in fact, for the church or the Christian or the believer to pray that Jesus or God the Father will rebuke the devil is wasting their time.” Brother Hagin said, “I sure have wasted a lot of time.” He then asked Jesus to show him in the Bible where it says that and he asked Him for three scriptures and Jesus told him He would give him four.

SUBMISSION

[The italicized portions are the scriptures given in Bother Hagin’s teaching, I added the rest.] The first scripture Jesus gave Brother Hagin was Mark 16:15-18, “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

And the next three scriptures were, James 4:7, “Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” First Peter 5:6-9, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” and Ephesians 4:27, “Neither give place [ground] to the devil.” In any encounter with spiritual wickedness in high places when we are exercising our authority we must be sure that we are submitted to God. We can't yield to the attack of the enemy and give him place and think we have authority over the devil at the same time. We need to deal with our own stronghold’s first and steadfast is “stereos”, solid, stable, strong, sure.

It is hard to be steadfast if we have moved from the hope of the gospel, Colossians 1:21-23, “And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel.” I know from experience that we must be doing those things that make for righteousness to stay grounded and settled in the hope of the gospel and not be giving the devil place. First John 3:7, “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous.”

God’s plan is to duplicate His Son by the millions and when the devil sees us he sees Jesus, but satan’s plan is to keep us from knowing we have authority over him and his renegade angels by making us feeling unworthy to exercise our authority in the Name of Jesus. But now that we know about our Blood Covenant with God through the blood of Jesus that cleanses us from all sin and we are chosen, accepted in the beloved, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, forgiven of our sins, given an inheritance, sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, quickened together with Christ, raised up together and seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus at the right hand of God with Jesus far above all the evil in this world and that Jesus is our Head, the Head of the church, and we are His body and we are in a wrestling match that was won at Calvary when Jesus was crucified, died and arose from the dead on the third day and gave us our “Starter Kit” which includes the armor of God. And now we can rise up and defeat the enemy in the Name of Jesus and change our world. The world that God has put us in charge of and we will be responsible for when we stand before Him.

Second Timothy 2:19-22, “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are His. And let everyone that nameth the Name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified and meet [profitable] for the Master's use, and prepared unto every good work.” First John 5:18, “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” Hebrews 6:1-3, “Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection [Teliotes-one who has in his own person raised faith to its perfection and so set before us the highest example of faith]; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. And this will we do, if God permit.”

To purge ourselves of all iniquity and keep ourselves so the wicked will not touch us and to go on to perfection we must understand our battle and our authority over the wicked during the battle that Ephesians 6:10-13 speaks of, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore."

Second Timothy 2:4, “No man that warreth entangeleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please Him who has chosen him to be a soldier.” Which is the same as Mark 4:18-20, “And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the Word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becometh unfruitful. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.” First Corinthians 9:24-27, “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway."

The covenant that God made with me when I was born again on October 18, 1983 at 3PM was sealed when I received the Holy Ghost on November the 26th, 1983 around 11 PM and God will never break our covenant, but, unfortunately through a lack of submission, obedience or knowledge we can allow the devil and his demons to come between us and God and make us think that our covenant is broken and then our authority will be severely hampered when we agree with the fiery darts of the wicked and we must immediately begin to restore our relationship with the Most High God. We can’t hold hands with Jesus and the devil at the same time. The quicker we get rid of whatever we have allowed to come between us and God the quicker we will restore our confidence in our authority. We have authority at all times, but it is not possible to have authority over satan and his demons in any area we are allowing him to have place in our lives until we submit ourselves unto God and resist him and must be full-time resistance and not just convenient resistance. Anytime we find ourselves out of God's will and in satan's will, we have the option to renounce the adverse activity at any millisecond and exercise our authority and restore our relationship with God through First John 1:7-10.

I want to be sure that you understand that as anyone goes through the fire or purging or attack of the wicked that we still have authority over the devil. We have authority the second we become a child of God and we wouldn't be able to go through life without being able to take authority over our circumstances. Every one of God’s promises in the Bible is still true no matter what we do and the Holy Ghost had me learn how to bind and loose early in my walk with Him. The reason we go through the fire is not to be destroyed, but to be loosed from the devil's strongholds in our lives so that we can become the useful saint of God of Second Timothy 2:19-21. John 3:17, “For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”

I was reading my Bible one day after the bookstore had closed and I got to First John 5:18, “We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” I threw my Bible down and said, “Oh, sure!” Here I was unemployed, divorced, no car, most of my furniture was gone and The Word of God is trying to tell me that the wicked one touches me not! I missed the part about keeping myself. I had a lot to learn, and Jesus, through the Holy Ghost [Acts 1:2], was going to have to teach me so that I could strive to become the righteous man of James 5:16 and keep myself from being touched by the wicked one and I am getting closer every day as I pray, pray, pray and bind, bind, bind. James 5:16, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and He delighteth in his way.”

OVERCOME

First John 2:13-14, “I write unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning. I write unto you, young men, because ye have overcome the wicked one. I write unto you, little children, because ye have known the Father. I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known Him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the Word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.” Overcome, “nikao”, to subdue (literally or figuratively) conquer, overcome, prevail, to get the victory. To get the victory we need to know what is normal to God versus what is normal to the world and learn God’s ways by diligently reading His Word and seeking His perfect will for our lives so we won’t give the devil place. The Holy Spirit inspired John to write “overcome the wicked one” in back to back verses to inspire us to also “overcome the wicked one” and if the Word says we can overcome, we can.

Many times we will yield to our circumstance or, in all actuality, the will of the devil, because we don't know what God's will is in a particular situation and that is why knowledge of the battle we are going through is so crucial. We have the same authority then as we ever will and are still God's children and He is still there with us no matter what and if we don't know this we will begin to believe the fiery dart of “You’re really not saved.” “God doesn't love someone like you.” “You can't pray! God won’t listen to someone like you.” When you begin to take that garbage into your heart then you can never feel worthy to even pray, much less have authority over the devil to destroy his strongholds. We need to quit putting our will or someone else's will before God's will and rise up and remove the obstacles that the devil has put in our path and begin to change this world. Do the best you can and stand on the promises of God and God will do the rest. The Holy Spirit is positive and uplifting and the devil is negative and will try to discourage us and we are a lot easier to discourage when we are habitually in sin and don’t realize that God is on our side no matter what and we can go to Him at any time and if you don’t know what to do by now may God help you, but just in case, confess, forgiven, cleansed by the Blood of Jesus.

Always remember to First Peter 5:6-7, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

And James 4:5-8, “Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.”

When I was trying to figure out what was going on in my life during my marriage, the first thing I needed to do was submit myself to God and I was trying, but I had too much yackity-yack between us, such as my church, my marriage, my bookstore, my going broke, and many other things too numerous and boring to mention. satan had all the ground he needed to keep me from being submitted to God. We need to be able to recognize not only sin, but also the unbelievably huge amount of things satan can come up with to break our fellowship with God. This is a fellowship that we long for as well as He and we must learn to eliminate the obstacles, the yackity-yack, that we encounter in everyday life that we allow to come between God and us. Mark 4:18-19, “And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the Word, And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becometh unfruitful.” But never give up and remember God will never leave you nor forsake you! Hebrews 13:5-6, “be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.”

Remember First John 1:4-10, “And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. This then is the message which we have heard of Him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. IF we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us.”

First John 2:1-6, “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His Word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked."

When things aren't going the way we want them to and there is darkness all around, we have a tendency to blame the devil and that is probably true, but how is he able to bring that darkness into our lives? The real problem here is not the devil, but our submission. The word advocate means an intercessor, consoler, advocate and comforter. Propitiation means an expiatory, an atoning victim, or specifically the lid of the ark (in the Temple):-mercy seat, propitiation. Expiatory is to expiate which means to make amends for (wrongdoing or guilt); atone for. We can always go to Jesus and confess our sins and boldly take authority over the demonic spirit world.

The only way that we can be submitted to God and resist the devil so that he will flee, is if we know what the Word says about our situation and see what God's will is in the matter in question and if you don't know God's will take a neutral stance until you can find out God's will. It is difficult to recognize darkness and a lack of submission when what you are doing is approved of by a large portion of the population, such as, my church telling me it was all right to marry someone because the church had been told that their husband beat them. What is God’s will in the situation? God gave me Matthew 5:32 as what I should do, but I made the choice to marry her anyway. I am sure God wanted her and her husband to get together and learn to recognize and defeat the enemy and raise their three children to fulfill God’s plan and purpose for their lives.

“That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication [adultery, incest, unlawful lust of either sex, harlotry and idolatry] causeth her to commit adultery; and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.” I entered into an adulterous marriage that was an open door for the devil. satan had place in my marriage and I thought he was a defeated foe that was under my feet.

If we want to be able to resist the devil and draw near to God we must not be allowing satan access in whatever area we are resisting him. If it is something I need to be purged of I must be able to recognize it as something that gives the devil place in my life. Better known as spiritual warfare.

James 1:14-15, “But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.” First John 2:3-6, “And hereby we do know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He that saith, I know Him, and keepeth not His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth His word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in Him. He that saith he abideth in Him ought himself also so to walk, even as He walked.”

One day I resisted the devil and he did not flee and I really don't remember what I was being tempted with, but I am sure it was a thought connected to fornication and since, at that time, I didn't know the definition of fornication it was difficult to be submitted to God in that area. When we are having difficulty in any area we must make sure we understand God's will in that area and search the Word and don't be afraid to admit you are wrong when you find the answer isn’t what you want to hear. It doesn't do any good to fight being submitted, because when you are sealed by the Holy Ghost He doesn't give up. Pray, praise and worship in tongues and the understanding and bind and loose in the Name of Jesus and obey God’s Word.

We need to be careful not to give the devil place [ground]. Ephesians 4:27, “Neither give place [ground] to the devil.”  The enemy will then have an opening to come in and obtain more and more ground and once we allow him to obtain a little ground then he will begin to try to get us to give up more and more ground. We can inadvertently loose the devil and his demons to operate in our lives if we don't know what the Word says about our situation and that is one of the main reasons why it is so vital to read God’s Word.

First John 2:15-17, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever."

During my marriage I just did the same old things I always did and I tried oral sex, but I knew the Holy Ghost was grieved. Oral sex is so widely accepted that it is easy to think it is okay with God. Oral sex is the end result of a spiritual battle and it is part of fornication-idolatry. I was actually bowing down to a person and worshiping that person at the direction of a demon spirit of perversion and we will get into this more later, but the point here is it will undermine our authority and we will not be submitted to God. I am constantly amazed at the different denominations battle over homosexuality. God loves everybody, but oral sex in any form, male-male, female-female or male-female or female-male grieves Him and is the work of demon spirits of perversion and has no purpose in the reproductive process. Ephesians 4:30, “And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.” We must kick the devil out of our bedrooms and keep the marriage bed undefiled.  Hebrews 13:4, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled:” Second Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise [Of coming back], as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

We must learn to recognize darkness that is caused by being out of the will of God and learn to recognize an attack of the enemy as opposed to being purged of our sins. When I am going through my purging or an attack satan has no more right to steal, kill and destroy in my life than he does when I am not. I have heard people say over and over that they must be doing something right the devil is fighting them, but how is he able to come in and put obstacle after obstacle in our path? Are we going through the fire or are we not submitted? We must be very sure that the Word of God is our God and not a church or ourselves or the world or our ministries or our marriages or our children or our jobs or our flesh or whatever. We need to put our faith in God-Jesus-The Word of God and God-Jesus-The Word of God only.

We are always contending for our faith especially when we draw close to God and He is ready to use us to serve His purpose. When the negative thoughts or thoughts that are contrary to God’s will or Word start learn to immediately go to God and talk to Him. Tell Him that you love Him and are excited that He is ready to use you and that you know that these negative thoughts are fiery darts of the wicked that are contending with you for your measure of faith and that you choose to stand on His Word and praise Him and go forth and do what He has called you to do from the foundation of the world. Thank Him for sending angels to minister in your behalf as you resist the devil. James 4:7-8, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you.” Any time I am going to minister the battle begins and I heard the Holy Spirit say once, “Remember that we are going to church and he is trying to discourage you.”

Second Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh; (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal; but mighty through God [the Word of God] to the pulling down of strongholds ;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God [the Word of God], and bringing every thought into the obedience of Christ [the Word of God].”

Whenever I find myself in darkness, things just aren't going right, I always ask God to forgive me according to First John 1:9 and then I ask Him to show me where I have allowed the devil to come between us. Once I was wondering, possibly worrying, about whether I was in God's will for my life as I was leaving my job one day and I was concerned over whether I was supposed to be there or not and in a very gentle, but forceful, way the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart and let me know that “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.” He had gotten me the job in December of 1987 and since God does nothing haphazardly, in addition to being a good job, it allowed me to meet some fine people and I learned a lot about how the devil can infiltrate the workplace.

I have never been good at humbling myself and I have finally realized that when satan comes with his temptations the only way to resist is to go to God and talk to Him and rely on His amazing grace to see me through so that I can be purged of my old way of doing things and feel worthy to exercise my authority in the Name of Jesus over the very devil that is tempting me. I must know who the Word of God says I am and how it tells me to conduct myself to keep from giving place or ground to the wicked. I have learned to recognize a fiery dart that can be spoken directly to you by a demon or through anybody they can talk into doing it for them and if you look at the tares instead of the Word of God for guidance you will be mis-guided.

First Peter 5:6-11 are one of my favorite scriptures, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. Casting all your care upon Him; For He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."

God has provided us with the weapons to defeat the enemy, now let's use them and purge ourselves and keep ourselves from the wicked one and go on unto perfection and defeat the powers of darkness and set the captives free by fulfilling Mark 16:15-18, “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

UNDERSTANDING THE DEPTH OF THE SPIRITUAL WARFARE THAT IS BEING WAGED AGAINST THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

The main person God has used to teach me about spiritual warfare is Howard O. Pittman. In his book titled “demons an Eyewitness Account” he tells of the demon of greed and warring demons and demons of witchcraft and demons of perversion and that there are other orders of demons in satan’s kingdom that we are fighting every day. We can see from our economy and the terrorism and the lack of morals and the total lack of concern among our leaders in the government about 1.4 MILLION American abortions per year that there doesn’t seem to be very much effective prayer due to a lack of understanding as to the depth of the spiritual warfare that is being waged against the United States of America as satan battles to destroy our nation and our way of life. Due to ignorance in the Body of Christ due to churches refusing to teach about spiritual warfare we idly sit by and watch and wait on the Lord to come back. But we need to begin to send forth effective, fervent prayer into the heavenlies to combat satan’s onslaught against humanity. We must unite and come against the principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places by teaching the truth in our churches. I understand that there is a movement that is beginning to pass laws that will prohibit any Bible based Christian teaching that is against the beliefs of others. They are taking away freedom of speech from Christians but everyone else will be able to express their views anytime or anywhere.

I recently read that 30 million Christians didn't vote in the last presidential election. I went to the internet and did a search and www.providenceforum.org/yourvotematters says that only 50 percent of Christians register to vote and only 50 percent of them vote and that means that only 25 percent of Christians vote.

This is copied from your vote matters;

You may think that one vote has no bearing on an election and perhaps you're right, but we're not talking about one vote. We're talking about one VOICE - the collective vote of millions of like-minded people of faith who stay away from the polls each year. Consider:

Only about 50 percent of Christians in America are registered to vote.

Of those, only 50 percent show up at the polls, meaning 75 percent of all Christians are not taking advantage of one of their greatest privileges.

If every Christian would register to vote and then do so, candidates who share their beliefs and values would win the presidency in a landslide.

When a vote is cast to reflect God's moral principles, you're not merely taking advantage of your rights, but you're performing a duty essential in preserving, or in some cases, repairing, the moral fabric of our nation.

Your vote and the votes of your community are needed to preserve our liberty for future generations.

In 1774, our founding fathers wrote this in the Journal of the Continental Congress: "It is an indispensable duty which we owe to God, our country, ourselves and posterity, by all lawful ways and means in our power to maintain, defend and preserve these civil and religious rights and liberties for which many of our fathers fought, bled and died, and to hand them down entire to future generations."

Your vote is the ultimate check and balance on our government.

Do "We the people of the United States of America" exercise our right to reclaim our power on the regular intervals established by our Constitution? Are we doing all we can to ensure that the decision makers in Washington and in our state capitols share our values, our vision and our beliefs?

WHY CHRISTIANS DON'T VOTE FROM MY 30 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AS A CHRISTIAN:

Reason number one: God is in charge and appoints our leaders: God allowed me to teach in a church one Sunday before an election where the majority refuse to vote because they interpret Romans 13:1-2, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation." to mean that God appoints the leaders of our country and that if they vote they are resisting the ordinance of God. To me this means that God has established our system of government through our founding fathers and the right to vote is our greatest privilege as a citizen of a free country that God ordained and established through our founding fathers and if we don't vote we bring damnation on ourselves. God has put Christians in charge and we are one in Christ Jesus and are failing to unite and exercise our authority and defeat our only enemy in the whole wide world, satan.

Hebrews 13:5-9, 17, “Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the Word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines,,,,,, Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.” It is unprofitable to you to have a government that rules over you and teaches doctrine that is contrary to God’s Word and if your church teaches you not to vote they will be held accountable and you will too if you don’t seek God’s will and resist the devil like the Word of God teaches.

Ephesians 4:11, “And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man [completeness, of full age], unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into Him in all things, which is the Head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.”

Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God,” This is speaking to the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers that don’t teach spiritual warfare and instead teach that we are to do nothing and just let things happen because God is in charge. All we do is sit back and watch as the devil takes away more and more of our freedom every day. I just read of a couple in Oregon, Aaron and Melissa Klein, that lost their bakery and may have to pay a 150,000 dollar fine because they refused to bake a cake for a same sex couple. Add them to your prayer list.

Mark 16:17, And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name (Jesus) shall they cast out devils;” We cast out the devil in Jesus Name, Jesus doesn’t cast out we do in His Name. We co-labor. We work together with God to defeat the enemy. We act in faith on the Word of God and God moves on our faith in His Word. God does not want us to be passive, complacent, but actively resist evil in every way possible. When we vote a Godly platform we are casting our vote to cast out the devil thereby obeying Mark 16:17. WHEN YOU DON'T VOTE THE GODLIEST PLATFORM YOU ARE GIVING THE devil PLACE BY NOT RESISTING him and his platform. Don’t look at the men look at the platform. Ephesians 4:27, "Neither give place to the devil."

Reason number two. This is all a sign of the end times and Jesus is coming back soon and we will be raptured before things get too rough. Matthew 24:36, “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of Heaven, but my Father only.” Vote until Jesus comes back.

Reason number three: Second Timothy 2:4, “No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” Our forefathers got involved with establishing our system of government but stayed away from the everyday foolishness or affairs of this life that we encounter in our daily life and they voted. The affairs of this life are things that don’t pertain to spiritual warfare and give the devil place. Read chapter six “The fiery darts of the wicked.”

Reason number four: We are strangers in this world and don’t need to be involved with the world’s system because we are just passing through-Hebrews 11:13-16, “These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.”

Our founding fathers were strangers and pilgrims in this land and they established the vote.

First Peter 5:6-9, " Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world." When you humble yourself under God’s mighty hand and vote the Godliest platform you are resisting satan steadfast in the faith.

James 4:7, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Resist by voting.

America is in a spiritual battle and has been since its conception. In WWII when we demonstrated that we had the capability to go overseas and defeat our enemies the battle that Ephesians 6:10-13 speaks of intensified and the church became impotent when satan convinced them to quit teaching about spiritual warfare. We got into the Korean War, prayer was removed from schools and we became involved in the Vietnam War and then began to systematically execute 1.2 million U.S. citizens a year through the demonic practice of abortion. We then began to replace those citizens with citizens from other countries that didn’t understand our heritage established through Christian values until we elected a man president of the USA whose name rhymes with osama only 7 short years after 911.

We are all one "In Christ Jesus." Don't vote because of the color of someone's skin, gender, party affiliation, religious beliefs or lack thereof, but for whoever has the Godliest platform. Vote for who the Holy Spirit will lead you to vote for if we are led by the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit. People that stand for abortion are totally deceived by the enemy. Christians are either afraid to run for office or are too heavenly bound to run or are overtaken by fear of offending someone once they are elected. I like Ted Cruz!

It is imperative that Christians realize they are in a battle of the mind with satan and win that battle and VOTE. Ephesians 6:10-18, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (WIN THE WRESTLING MATCH AND VOTE.) Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked [of not to vote.] And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

Second Corinthians 10:3-5, “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God [The Word of God] to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God [The Word of God], and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; [The Word of God]” When the thought not to vote enters your mind bind it in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth and vote the Godliest platform.

Christians need to begin to petition their churches to sing GOD, BLESS AMERICA at every service and every hour on all radio stations and television stations.

While the storm clouds gather in D.C., Let us swear allegiance to a land that's free, let us all be grateful for a land so fair, as we raise our voices in a solemn prayer:

God, Bless America [a prayer request] Land that I love, stand beside her, and guide her thru the night with a light from above. From the mountains, to the prairies, to the oceans, white with foam, God bless America My home sweet home.

If there is one thing I could convey to people in every country and way of life and religion regardless of their race or national origin is that the devil can speak to anybody, anywhere, anytime. Somebody once told me that the devil can’t create anything, but he can create the things that we listed from Galatians 5:19-21 in chapter six. Once we all realize this the easier it will become for us to recognize him working and then we will be able to defeat him through united prayer and grow to be the victorious church that God planned on us being. Then we will be able to forgive each other and fight the devil that is creating the problems in our world instead of fighting each other. There are so many more things in this world that we need to be praying about other than our petty arguments with other people and things God has already provided for us in His Word.
